My great grandmother is Almena Mae Morris and my great grandfather is Samuel Forest Hill. Samuel's father was the head of the hill household that helped hide John Taylor during the 1880s. Almena Mea Morris was the grand niece of the Prophet Joseph Morris. Samuel Hill's parents disowned him when he married my great grandmother because she still held beliefs and documents belonging to her grand uncle. I have also been told that Almena's father Joseph Newberry Morris (who was named after the Prophet) was also close friends with Hannah Sutton Woolley the daughter of John Smith, Samuel Batemen and others associated with the 1886 visit of Joseph Smith and Jesus Christ to John Taylor and others.
It has been a little obvious that Church leaders have taken ideas from those of the Morrisite movement in the past https://www.angelfire.com/planet/lds/Morrisite.html. I grew up in an LDS household even though my mother was a follower of Xorol Richards Oliver and had some Morrisite books on the shelf. I started reading them when I became curious about my unique Mormon heritage.
